it’s never mattered much to me that he’s from barcelona, and i’ve never been ashamed of respecting him either. i have a lot of admiration for this man because he grew up with people telling him that he couldn’t play football; he was not built for the sport, he was too small, etc etc. but in the end he showed them all that he could, and turned out to be one of the best football players in the world. he has never boasted or seemed arrogant of his accomplishments. it doesn’t matter to me if he’s from barca and i support real madrid; a good player is a good player, and i have no shame in recognizing one.

i didn’t choose this photo because it was “pretty” or anything, in fact i wanted to choose one that showed people who he really is when they stop focusing on his eyes and body and hair. i remember the first time i saw pique playing, it was against switzerland i recall during the early stages of the world cup. he had cut his head with another player’s cleat from the opposing team, and i just really remember thinking.. he’s like a wall. he doesn’t think about injuries, he doesn’t think about anything other than defending his team the way he should. and that’s when i really started noticing pique (i mean, how can you not after he started injuring himself every game lol), because he gives every little part of himself into every game he plays. he’s just so dedicated and i think some girls should really appreciate that other than his looks. he is a very good looking guy, but there’s more to him than that.
