"Solo he sido del Madrid y aqui me gustaria morir."
- Iker Casillas

"I still don’t think I can say what Real Madrid is. Is it enough to say it’s the most famous club in the world? Or that it’s colours millions of people identify with? Is the answer in it’s history? In the players? Or is each person’s story what defines it? Is it only football or the passion of the fans; their joy in victory, their sadness in defeat? Or the pain over the absence of those who we shared the club with? Is it the self-sacrifice, the need to do better, bravery in the face of adversity? Or is Real Madrid a small boy’s dream and many people’s hope? Yes. Real Madrid is all that and more."
- Real: The Movie

TOP FIVE REAL MADRID MOMENTS OF THE SEASON

03. bringing in jose mourinho

real madrid has had some of the greatest spanish managers coach the team in the past; we’ve seen vincent del bosque, who many consider his time at the club one of the most successful of the modern era. in the 2010-2011 season, we brought in jose mourinho. a controversial coach if anything, he’s been known to say his own perception of things even if many might not like to hear it. by the end of the 2010 FIFA world cup, he already brought four new players to real madrid: players that have since then flourished and proved to be some of the greatest decisions made this season. on the 20th of april 2011, he brought us to our first copa del rey since nearly a decade ago; also defeating barcelona in the process, seen as a huge improvement since our 5-0 loss in our first clasico of the season. these accomplishments might seem little to some, but it’s only mourinho’s first year at real madrid and we love him for the dedication and effort he puts into the team every day. we consider him, first and foremost, a madridista, and then a coach. we know he’ll lead us to titles the next and many more seasons to come.

TOP FIVE REAL MADRID MOMENTS OF THE SEASON

04. the return of ricardo kaka and el pipita higuain

it’s always hard to have injured players on the bench, especially when they’re the stars of the team. kaka was out for an eight month absence due to a knee injury, while higuain was for four months. however, the return of both of our beloved players was for many one of the highlights of the season. kaka scored in his second game against villareal, and higuain managed to score a hattrick against valencia in his first starting game. these goals weren’t just goals; they were goals that reminded us that they were back, that they were just as happy to be in the white shirt just as much as we were happy to see them, and that they loved us just as much we loved them.
